If you are already employed, you can request that your manager or supervisor allocate duties to you based on the
Educare: Logbook. Your manager must verify that you have finished the duties and sign the Logbook.

If you are unemployed and looking to complete your practical training, you can sign up to be placed with a company through iWIL.

iWIL is a government platform that assists students in obtaining career-related training. You will still need to fill out and submit the relevant Logbook detailing the tasks you did while working at the company.

You will need a matric certificate (NQF level 4) in order to start with an Educare course.  If you do not have a matric certificate, you can consider studying an Adult Matric course. You must have a grade 9 or equivalent certificate in order to apply for an Amended Senior Certificate (Adult Matric)  You will receive an NQF 4 certificate after completing this course which will enable you to start your Educare journey. You can also have a look at other ways to complete your matric for alternative options that you could be eligible for.

No, you cannot go to university with an N6 Educare Diploma. There is no correlation between an Educare Diploma and university entry requirements. You will need a Bachelor’s Degree Matric Pass in order to meet the minimum requirements for university acceptance. Each university also has additional entry requirements specific to each study programme.  You will need to meet all of these requirements in order to apply to a university. Other factors include the amount of other students who are enrolling, how your application looks compared to theirs, and the university’s student capacity.

Once you have obtained your Educare certificate, the certificate will remain valid for you to use at any time. There is no expiry date on the qualifications you will receive.
