Yes, they are. Bellview Institute of Distance Learning offers accredited NATED courses. Our NATED courses are accredited by:
- The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO)
- The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET)
- They are further registered on the National Qualification Framework (NQF) by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)
How Long Do NATED Courses Take?
NATED diploma courses typically take between 18 and 36 months to complete. The N6 National Diploma, which only consists, of 18 months of work experience.
What Is NATED Equivalent To?
The NATED N4- N6 qualifications are not equivalent to any qualification. The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) designed these courses to have their own specific purposes and learning outcomes. They are registered on the NQF system, but are not equivalent to other courses on the same NQF level.
NATED courses consist of three National Certificate courses and a diploma course. These courses include:
- N4 National Certificate (NQF 5)
- N5 National Certificate (NQF 5)
- N6 National Certificate (NQF 5)

What Are The Requirements For NATED Courses?
To qualify for entry in our diploma courses, you will need to either have a National Senior Certificate or an Amended Senior Certificate. You also need to be 16 years or older and be able to understand the English language.
How Do NATED Courses Work?
NATED courses build up on each other. In order to move on to the next level of study, you are required to first complete the previous level. Each course level will need you to study four subjects.
You can also start working upon completion of your first level Certificate. Every level you complete can allow you to improve in your career field. You can then move into a higher position. After completing the Certificate courses, you will be able to register for the National Diploma. The National Diploma is a practical course where you will get work related experience for 18 months. You have to complete the work experience to get your NATED National Diploma.
How Do I Pass NATED Courses?
To pass your diploma course, you will have to complete a series of assessments and exams. All of your assessments and exams must be passed with a minimum of 50%.

Each course level (N4-N6) has four subjects to be completed. The assessments are broken down as follows:

Assessments
For each subject, you are required to complete three assessments. You will be given the chance to complete three open-book assessments which will have to be submitted. To pass, you will need to reach a minimum of 50%.
Exams
All exams for NATED courses occur twice in a year. Exams are open for the May/ June and October/November period.
